Our Story

A place that feels like

El Coqui lives on Cedar Avenue in the heart of East Austin — a neighborhood that refuses to stand still, but somehow still feels like home. We opened our doors with a simple idea: build a spot where people actually want to linger.

By day, we pour carefully sourced coffee and serve breakfast plates that actually fill you up. By night, the same tables become a cocktail bar with a menu that changes with the seasons and the mood. No pretense. No dress code. Just good drinks, real food, and the kind of atmosphere where strangers become regulars.

The name comes from the coquí — that tiny frog whose song defines the nights of Puerto Rico. It's our nod to warmth, to community, and to the idea that the best moments are often the quiet ones shared with people you care about.
